Now that the US visa application process is changing and becoming more difficult, many countries are beginning to implement their own travel visas. Norway and Japan have recently changed their US visa requirements for these two nations. US Visa Requirements
The United States has some of the most stringent visa requirements in the world. In order to be granted a US visa, you must first be a citizen of a country that is eligible to apply for a US visa. The list of countries that are eligible to apply for US visas can be found on the US Department of State’s website.
In addition to being a citizen of a qualifying country, you must also meet certain requirements. For example, you must have a valid passport and proof of residence in your qualifying country. You must also have an approved travel document, such as a valid airline ticket, if you are traveling to the United States.
If you do not meet all of the required conditions, you may still be able to obtain a US visa if you can show that it is in your best interest to do so. For example, if you are applying for a US visa because you have family living in the United States, your spouse or child may be able to provide sufficient evidence that you will be able to maintain contact with them while in the United States.
US Visa Requirements for Japanese Citizens
For citizens of Japan, the United States generally requires a valid passport and a visa. Nationals of Brunei, Taiwan, and Singapore do not need a visa to travel to the United States. US Visa Requirements for Norwegian Citizens
Norwegian citizens are not required to obtain a visa to visit the United States as long as they have a valid passport. Japanese citizens must also have a valid passport and a tourist visa if they are travelling for less than 90 days.
Both Norwegian and Japanese citizens must present their passports when visiting the US. Additionally, both visitors are required to provide proof of financial support (a bank statement or letter from an employer) and proof of accommodation (a hotel reservation or rental agreement). Finally, all visitors are advised to carry documentation indicating that they have been vaccinated against rabies.
US Visa Eligibility Criteria
Norwegian and Japanese citizens are eligible to apply for a US visa if they meet the following criteria:
-Are citizens of countries that have a visa waiver agreement with the United States.
-Are not nationals of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria or Yemen.
-Do not have any serious criminal convictions.
-Do not have any terrorist connections.
-Meet all other requirements for a US visa, including having a passport that is valid for at least six months after your intended date of travel to the United States.
