How to Apply for a Czech Transit Visa

If you are travelling to Czech Republic for less than 90 days, you do not need a visa. However, if you are travelling for longer than 90 days, you will need to apply for a transit visa. The application process is fairly straightforward and can be done at any Czech embassy or consulate. Here are the steps:

1. Determine your travel dates.

The earliest date that you can enter the Czech Republic is 30 days before your intended departure date.

  1. Print out your passport photo page and fill out the Transit Visa Application Form (available on the embassy website).
  2. Bring your passport along with two passport-style photos (taken within six months of the application) and the completed application form to the embassy or consulate where you plan on applying for a transit visa.
  3. Pay the applicable visa fees (currently around CZK 150).
